I DID NOT DRAW THIS! ~Chio-Elliker did the lines, I only colored! This lovely lady is an oiran, NOT A GEISHA. An oiran was the highest-class courtean of Tokyo's old Yoshiwara pleasure district. Unlike the geisha, the oiran tied her obi in the front, wore very flamboyant kimono, and adorned her hair with lots and lots of kanzashi. I hope everyone likes this! ~Chio-Elliker did a fantastic job with the lines, and this piece was a real pleasure to color. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
